If it’s humans or livestock, a mother’s instinct is still there. And one new example that we’ve seen is when a cat adopts four abandoned squirrels.
The cute squirrels were discovered in a Crimean park in Bakhchisaray. Their mother left them just four weeks after they were conceived. They were too little and in desperate need of someone to look after them.
Fortunately, their welfare was fine so they were taken to the nature center where the park keepers realized the squirrels would require a mother figure to thrive and survive. On the other side, Pusha, one of the park’s cats, had just given birth to four kittens and the park’s owners wanted to see if she would mind caring for the baby squirrels as well.
The cat much to everyone’s delight welcomed them right away. And if the squirrels were initially wary of her they soon began to regard Pusha as their mother and jumped all over her.
“They sleep, eat and play together in a wonderful family that we’ve ever seen,” the park owners said.
