Two from Yorkshire, England, Rich and Emma saw a photo of Ikiru on a website on cat breeders. The image didn’t take much time to make them fall in love with what they have seen. They were sure that it was their cat after the first visit and took it home after four weeks.
They didn’t miss to create an Instagram account to document little Ikiru’s daily routine. Therefore the instagram page has made this cat quite a celebrity. It’s doubtless that Ikiru is the real king of blep breed. To our surprise some faces of this cat are so wacky. The people who see these stuff of Ikiru sometimes ask whether the cat’s alright.
“Ikiru is really healthy and our vet told us he has some of the best teeth she has ever seen,” both Rich and Emma said at an interview. “Exotic shorthairs have a slightly pudgy face but he’s very energetic and in great shape. Believe it or not, he doesn’t always have his tongue hanging out, but it seems to be a quirk of his, leading to some amusing facial expressions.”
The kitty was given the name after one of his owner’s favorite Akira Kurosawa films. The meaning of the name ‘ikiru’ is ‘to live’ or ‘living’ in Japanese language. “He’s loving, affectionate, and grumpy in the best way. Ikiru is also playful and endlessly amusing. One particular quirk is he loves tunneling and hiding underneath things like blankets or sheets of paper, or staring at you upside down from the corner of a room.”
The owners Emma and Rich told that Ikiru normally makes them laugh doing all his naughty works plus the facial expressions. However the couple finds it interesting and they enjoy all its work. Therefore they have become able to share the cat with the whole world through social media “We get messages from all around the world saying his silly faces, cuteness, and personality brightens their day. He even inspires fan art, people have some fantastic illustrations which really capture his cheeky character.”
