A beluga whale returned a mobile phone to a woman who had accidentally missed it in the sea, showing extreme gentleness and friendliness.

The surprising incident took place in Hammerfest, Norway. This was caught on camera and shared online for others to watch.

A kind of a belt was fixed on it at the very first time they spotted this whale in water. Norway officials guess that the whale was undergoing training as a spy whale for the Russian Navy and went rogue.

The whale roamed in the same area even after the removal of the belt or the harness which was fixed on it at the end.

When this news became known to locals, they used to head down to the waterfront wishing to have a single sight of the whale.

Ina Mansika and her fellow friends also went down to see this amazing ex-Russian spy whale recently. To their surprise, they had a better experience than they expected. Their meet up with the whale didn’t end only by letting the greetings, but it also saved and gave back the accidentally dropped phone among the sea water.

Mansika said The Dodo:

“We laid down on the dock to look at it and hopefully get the chance to pat it. I had forgotten to close my jacket pocket and my phone fell in the ocean. We assumed it would be gone forever, until the whale dove back down and came back a few moments later with my phone in its mouth!”

Although the phone was safely received by the owner it no longer works due to the water damages caused. But it’s alright for that to pay for a valuable moment like this to meet a whale and to get it caught on camera.

It’s doubted about the whale’s capability of thriving in the wild on it’s own, as it is given apparent training. Therefore, they expect to execute a plan to relocate this wonderful whale in a sanctuary in Iceland.
